Mental Fitness for Sports Officials

‘The Official’s Mind’ is a new educational, training and integrative research site for officials from all sports and experience levels. The site focuses on the mental side of an official’s game looking at concepts like stress, confidence, motivation, communication, attentional focus and the mind-body connection; and provides skills that can help all officials better manage their games.

Each month ‘The Official’s Mind’ will update their content and provide videos and articles from experts in our field including sports psychologists, other officials, coaches and athletes who will talk about mental fitness from their perspective. We also offer monthly training sessions, classes and opportunities for your organization to do research studies, and use the results to set up unique training sessions specific to your organization’s needs.

We are here to help all officials improve their game and give them the skills to be able to enhance their mental performance. An example is helping official’s better recognize things like stress, your mind and body’s reaction to stress and give you the tools to cope with that stress, especially under the pressure of officiating.

We would encourage you to watch all our videos, read all our articles and participate in our monthly surveys. Learning from our peers in one of the best ways to make yourself better. As officials we are taught about rules, protocols and fitness, but the mental side of our game is rarely addressed. We are here to change that, by providing a platform where officials can learn and grow.

Welcome to ‘The Official’s Mind’. We hope you enjoy our site!
